Good Food Guide

Southeastern Horticultural Society
In fulfillment of the vision of founder Dr. Bill Warren, Good Samaritan Health Center broke ground on the Good Samaritan Urban Farm in 2013. The farm is an approximately one acre plot of land located behind the Health Center. Through a partnership with the Southeastern Horticultural Society, the vision for the farm became a reality, and harvests from the farm began in June 2013. Produce from the first year were incorporated into nutrition classes and food demonstrations held at the state of the art teaching kitchen inside the Health Center and donated to the community and patients seen at the clinic. In January 2014 the Southeastern Horticultural Society oversaw the building of a greenhouse on the farm. Future plans for the farm include building an arbor beneath the pecan trees on site and developing a teaching garden.
